Therapeutic Waiver Services, or Therapy, provides support to individuals with behaviors that make it difficult for them to be active in their community and/or life at home. These behaviors can often be disturbing, disruptive or destructive to the family, work or community dynamic.
This service is provided by Pennsylvania Licensed Therapists. Pennsylvania Licensed Therapists have a qualifying degree and have achieved the required 3500 hours of experience before becoming licensed by the commonwealth. In addition, licensed therapists have special training that help them to understand why a person may be having difficulties. The licensed therapist completes an assessment prior to developing therapeutic goals after consulting with the Individual and members of their team. The goals help everyone who is in regular contact with the waiver individual to support him or her. Goals are reviewed regularly with the individual and their team. This service includes helping families to implement strategies to help the individual to be successful.
